Maja Fredrique is a San Francisco-based photographer with an unshakable passion for music. Though her musical talents may not lie in playing instruments, Maja channels her love for live performances through her camera lens, capturing the raw energy and emotion of musicians on stage. Specializing in intimate, small-venue shows, she focuses on bands from around her native San Francisco, bringing the essence of live music to life through her on stage portraits. She strives to document the Bay Area live music scene with a journalistic desire to document and preserve Bay Area musical history.

While her heart will always belong to rockabilly, Maja's musical tastes are diverse, spanning ska, neo-soul, punk, metal, and garage rock. Each photograph she takes reflects the connection she feels to the music and the moments she experiences as an avid fan. Her favorite bands, in ranked order are: Big Sandy and His Flyright Boys, the Detroit Cobras, Shannon and the Clams, and Kendra Morris.
